Twenty years in the trade
Jordan has spent 20 years in the electrical trade. He started in general electrical contracting, earned his Red Seal journeyperson electrician certification in 2010, and moved into solar in 2011 — back when a residential photovoltaic install was still a rarity on an Alberta street. In 2015 he earned his Master Electrician designation, the credential that allows him to be the electrician of record on permits and to carry responsibility for a contractor’s electrical work under Alberta’s Safety Codes Act.
That sequence matters: 15 years of hands-on solar experience layered on top of a full electrical contracting background. Solar PV is, at its core, an electrical discipline — DC strings, rapid shutdown, Section 64 of the Canadian Electrical Code, service capacity math, interconnection. Jordan reviewed and signed his way through Alberta’s solar growth years before most of today’s installers existed.
