Solar isn’t a sale. It’s a 30-year promise.
Stellar Upgrades — Edmonton Solar, Battery, and EV Charger Installer Since 2018
We exist to accelerate Alberta’s clean energy transition by being the installer Albertans can still call — and still trust — in 30 years.
Capacity figure derived from 535+ residential and rural systems averaging ~8.5 kW. Annual generation estimated using Alberta’s published average solar yield of ~1,150 kWh/kW/year. Real Alberta winter production data →
We’re here to raise the standard — not just take the sale.
Solar isn’t a product. It’s a 30-to-40-year decision that will outlast cars, careers, and most of the companies selling it. The system going on your roof today should still be earning for you in 2056. That only happens if the equipment is right, the install is done by certified electricians, the warranty is real, and the company that put it there is still around to answer the phone.
We started Stellar Upgrades because too much of what passes for “solar” in Alberta is shaped by the next quick sale. We’re here to build the opposite: a company that quotes you honestly, installs it ourselves, and is still standing behind the work decades from now. If solar won’t bring real, measurable financial change to your home, we tell you and we walk away. About one in ten of our assessments ends that way. That’s the whole point.
One name. One phone number. The same company in 30 years.
Stellar Upgrades is led by Pawanjeet (PJ) Singh — Founder & President. PJ runs every assessment personally, walks every homeowner through the real numbers, and tells about one in ten that solar isn’t the right call for their home. No script. No commission games. No call centre.
That’s the structure behind every quote: one accountable person at the top, a credentialed in-house install team supervised by one Red Seal Master Electrician of record, and an Alberta-incorporated business standing behind the warranty. Same crew on day one, same crew on day 9,000.
Pawanjeet (PJ) Singh
Founder & PresidentFace to face. From quote to install.
Sewak is Stellar’s Outside Sales Manager — the person who’ll meet you at your home, walk through your roof, and answer your questions in person. The bridge between the free assessment and the install.
If you prefer to talk things through on your own driveway instead of on the phone, this is the call to book. Sewak comes out to the home, listens, and gives you a straight answer about whether solar makes sense for your roof — or doesn’t.
Sewak
Outside Sales ManagerWhy we built Stellar — in our own words.
When you put solar on your home, you’re not buying a product. You’re making a 30-to-40-year decision. The system you install today will outlast cars, jobs, mortgages — and probably the company that sold it to you, unless that company was built differently.
Most of the solar industry in Alberta over the last few years has been organized around one motion: the sale. The fastest signature, the biggest commission, the next door knocked. We’ve watched too many homeowners sign with operations that disappeared inside a single winter, leaving permits unfiled, warranties orphaned, and roofs leaking with no one to call. That’s the industry we walked into. It’s the industry we refuse to be part of.
Stellar Upgrades exists because Alberta deserves a solar company organized around a different motion: the promise. If we don’t think solar will bring real, measurable financial change to your home, we tell you, and we walk away. We’re here to raise the bar — not just on what we install, but on what the whole industry expects of itself.
Our promise to every customer is simple. If solar won’t make your life better, we don’t recommend it. If we install it, we stand behind it — not through a call center, not through a “partner network,” through us. The same names. The same phone number. The same crew you met on day one.
We want Stellar to be the kind of company you trust the way you trust Costco — confidence built into every interaction, a real person on the other end, problems solved without an argument. Not because we’re selling you something today. Because we’re standing behind something we built for the long game.
That’s the work. That’s the promise.
Built one install at a time, since 2018.
Stellar didn’t arrive overnight. It came from eight years of doing the work, then doing more of it, then refusing to grow in a way that would cost the trust we earned.
Real homes. Real roofs. Across Alberta.
Every project here is our own work, photographed on the day it was finished or shortly after. No stock photos. No marketing renders.
So thrilled with this company. Our system was installed over a year ago and it was the best decision we ever made. We used to pay $600 to $800 in bills, but now we pay nothing to the utility company.
National sales operation vs. local Alberta installer.
A lot of solar quotes in Alberta come from companies that don’t actually install. Sales is contracted out, leads are resold, the install is dispatched to whichever crew has bandwidth. The deep-dive lives in our 11 questions to ask any Alberta solar installer. Here’s the short version, line by line.

We want to be trusted the way you trust Costco.
You walk into Costco knowing if something is wrong, you can talk to a real person and get it sorted. No call center maze. No three-week ticket queue. No “sorry, that’s a different department.” The transaction is built around confidence, not friction.
That’s the standard we’re building Stellar Upgrades to meet. When you call us in year 1, year 5, or year 30, you reach the same company. Real people who can make decisions. Real accountability. Problems solved — not escalated, not deflected, not subcontracted.
Solar is too important a decision for anything less.
Authorized dealers. Real warranties. Tier-1 manufacturers.
Every product we install is one we’d put on our own home. Each is backed by a Tier-1 manufacturer warranty — the kind that survives even if Stellar isn’t the one filing the claim. The deeper case for our equipment choices: microinverters vs string for Alberta roofs and Tesla Powerwall 3 vs EP Cube 2.0.

Solar Panels
Tier-1 Hi-MO 7. 25-year product + 30-year linear performance warranty. Excellent low-light performance for Alberta winters.

Microinverters
Panel-level optimization and panel-level monitoring. 25-year product warranty. Each panel produces independently — shade or snow on one doesn’t drag the array.

Battery Storage
LFP whole-home backup. 10-year / 6,000-cycle warranty. Canadian Solar parent — warranty support out of Guelph, Ontario.

EV Chargers
Smart Level 2 charger. App-controlled scheduling. Rated to −30°C. 40A and 48A configurations available.
Racking: RT Mini 2 (roof-mount) and FastRX (ground-mount). Critter guards included on every install.
Verifiable. In writing. Available on request.

Refer a neighbour. Get paid. Or pass it forward.
If you refer a homeowner who installs solar with Stellar, we pay $100 per installed kilowatt on commissioning. On a typical 9 kW residential system, that’s $900.
You can take it as cash or apply it as a credit on your own next upgrade. You can also pass it forward — gift the referral fee directly to the new customer to lower their installed cost. Your call.
From first call to clean energy — typically 4 to 10 weeks.
Most of the timeline is permit and utility processing, not crew time on your roof. Here’s exactly what happens.
Free assessment
15-minute on-site or virtual review of your roof, panel, and electricity bills.
Honest design
Custom design with 30-year financial projection. Or an honest “don’t do it.”
Permits filed
We file the municipal electrical permit and the Alberta Micro-Generation application. 1–3 weeks typical.
Install
1 to 3 days on your roof with our in-house Red Seal-supervised crew. No subcontractors.
Inspection
City of Edmonton (or your municipality) electrical inspection. We’re on site for it.
Activation
EPCOR / FortisAlberta / ATCO / EQUS bi-directional meter swap. System produces. You’re live.
