The AESO declared a grid alert on January 13, 2024, and at 6:44 p.m. an emergency alert hit every phone in the province; then on April 5, 2024 came genuine rotating outages, with ~244 MW of load shed between 8:53 and 9:16 a.m. Day to day, FortisAlberta — Spruce Grove’s wires utility — averages under 1.3 hours of outage per customer per year.
