Solar & Battery · Canmore & the Bow Valley

Mountain honest.
Solar honest.

Some Canmore roofs are phenomenal solar candidates. Some aren't. We're the company that tells you which one you have — with a real sun-path study, LONGi panels rated for mountain snow and wind, FortisAlberta net metering, and a lifetime leak-proof guarantee on the installs that make sense.

Why the Bow Valley is different

We start by finding out if you should say no.

Mountain solar rewards honesty. Valley walls, tree lines and roof pitch change the math house by house — so in Canmore, the shading study isn't a step in our process, it is the process.

Sun-path study first

We model your actual horizon — Three Sisters included — before quoting a single panel. If your roof loses too much to the valley, we say so and shake hands.

Hardware rated for here

90 PSF snow and 180 mph wind ratings on the mounts, dual-glass panels, structural review on every permit — the Bow Valley doesn't scare the equipment.

FortisAlberta net metering

The same provincial micro-gen rules and Fortis paperwork as the rest of Alberta — banked summer credits carry your winter, filed by us.

How it works from Canmore

Your quote happens on a screen,
not at your kitchen table.

Distance never touches your price or your timeline. The whole assessment happens over Google Meet before anyone drives anywhere — you see your design, your price, your savings and your warranties on screen, and a site visit only happens once the numbers already make sense to you.

ITell us about your home

A 30-second form — name and number is all it takes. PJ follows up personally inside 24 hours.

IISend a recent power bill

A photo or PDF by text or email. Your real usage sets the system size — we never design from guesses.

IIIGoogle Meet walkthrough

20–30 minutes on screen: your roof by satellite, your design, your price, your savings, your warranties. We decline roughly 10% of homes right here when the math doesn't work.

IVSite visit, then the exact quote

Only once the numbers make sense to you do we drive to Canmore — confirm the roof and panel in person, and put one final number in writing.

They didn’t try to sell me a generic package; instead, they provided a personalized design based on my actual utility bills.

Around the valley

Canmore, bench by bench.

Elevation, aspect and tree line decide everything here — this is how the valley reads from a solar designer's desk.

IThree Sisters & Peaks of Grassi

South-side benches with real elevation — aspect varies lot by lot, so the sun-path study earns its keep here more than anywhere.

IISilvertip & the north benches

North-of-river slopes often face the sun squarely — some of the best production numbers in the valley hide up here.

IIICougar Creek & town centre

Established streets with mixed pitch and mature trees — honest shading studies, microinverters, and designs only where they pay.

IVBanff & the deeper valley

Parks Canada rules make Banff a case-by-case conversation — we'll tell you on the first call whether your project is workable.

Bow Valley questions

The mountain questions.

Sometimes brilliantly, sometimes not — and we'll tell you which one you are before you spend a dollar. Canmore's valley runs roughly northwest–southeast, so many roofs catch strong mid-day sun even with the Three Sisters on the horizon, while others lose real production to valley shading in the shoulder seasons. Every Canmore design starts with a proper sun-path and shading study, and we decline the homes where the math honestly doesn't work — about 10% of assessments everywhere we operate, more in the mountains, and we're fine with that.
Canmore is FortisAlberta territory, and the provincial Micro-Generation Regulation applies exactly as it does everywhere else in Alberta: a bi-directional meter, kWh-for-kWh credit for every exported kWh, banked up to 12 months. We prepare and file the interconnection with Fortis as part of every install.
The hardware is built for worse than the Bow Valley gives it: our RT-MINI II mounts carry a 90 PSF snow rating and 180 mph wind rating with ICC-ESR certification, and LONGi's dual-glass panels are rated for heavy front load. Structural review is part of the permit on every install, and steep Canmore rooflines actually shed snow faster than prairie roofs do. Winter production dips; the annual math is what matters, and we show it to you honestly.
Case by case, yes. Banff townsite sits inside a national park with its own development rules and Parks Canada considerations, so timelines run differently than a standard Alberta permit — but the electrical work and FortisAlberta interconnection are the same trade we practise every day. Start with a video consult and we'll give you a straight answer on whether your Banff project is workable.
The same way your quote does: efficiently. Design, price, savings and warranties all happen over Google Meet first; only when the numbers make sense does a truck roll — Canmore folds into our southern loop through Calgary and Cochrane, about an hour further up the Trans-Canada. Pricing is identical to Edmonton, with no travel surcharge.

If your roof can do it,
we'll prove it first.

Free video consult over Google Meet — including the honest version of your valley's sun path.

Your consult covers your real bills, a sun-path read on your actual lot, a custom design and exact pricing — and a site visit only once the numbers already make sense to you.

Canmore · Bills & Rates

Why is your Canmore power bill so high?

Less than half of a Canmore electricity bill is the power you actually used. The rest is delivery — transmission, distribution (including a fixed daily charge), rate riders and the local access fee — none of which you can shop away by switching retailers. Our line-by-line breakdown shows exactly where your money goes, and what rooftop solar zeroes out versus what it doesn’t.
