We installed our solar system almost two years ago, and it's performing exactly the same as day one. The company actually called us after two years just to check if everything was still working properly.

Japdeep★★★★★

Hey if you are going solar I highly recommend this company as it's not here to just take my money and actually help me save money on my bills.

So thrilled with this company! Our system was installed over a year ago and it was the best decision we ever made. We used to pay $600–$800 in bills, but now we pay nothing to the utility company!

Harry S.★★★★★

The entire process was completed in a timely and efficient manner. Pawan was a pleasure to work with — he took the time to thoroughly explain the product and never made me feel rushed.

Had a great experience with Stellar Upgrades. The team was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. They made switching to solar feel simple and stress-free.

Alexendra★★★★★

Best company we dealt with — true professionals, and the best pricing for what they actually deliver. They even called us a year after install just to check on the system. That kind of follow-up is almost unheard of.

I had solar panels installed on my home last month by Stellar Upgrades and I'm honestly impressed with how everything turned out. PJ took the time to walk us through everything.

What I appreciated most was their transparent pricing and honest advice. They didn't try to sell me a generic package; instead, they provided a personalized design based on my actual utility bills.

Two Different Cities, Electrically

St. Albert’s EV question is really a garage question.

Electrically, St. Albert splits down the middle. North of Villeneuve Road, newer communities were wired for modern loads. The mature crescents that made the city famous — tree-lined streets from the 60s and 70s — often pair a 100A service with a garage that was never meant to feed a car. Both are solvable; they’re just different jobs, and we quote them honestly.

🏡

Grandin & Braeside era

Many 60s–70s homes run 100A services, and some park in detached garages. Load management (built into the Emporia Pro, included with the Wallbox) handles the capacity side; where a detached garage needs a new feed, we quote the trench and conduit run upfront — no surprises on install day.

🏘

Erin Ridge to Jensen Lakes

Erin Ridge, Oakmont, North Ridge and Jensen Lakes homes typically carry 200A services with attached garages — the textbook install: dedicated 240V circuit, 2–4 hours on site, charging that night.

📜

City permit, handled

The electrical permit runs through the City of St. Albert and is filed under our licensed electrical contractor designation — permit and inspection are in the installed price, and FortisAlberta is your wires company if you ever pair the charger with solar.

Two chargers. Fully installed.

The installed price in St. Albert is the same fixed number we quote everywhere: charger, dedicated 240V circuit, City permit, inspection and app setup, all in. Both come in 40A (9.6 kW) or hardwired 48A (11.5 kW).

Pair your charger with solar panels.

St. Albert’s newer rooflines take solar beautifully, and FortisAlberta net metering banks summer surplus against winter charging. The charger-plus-solar pairing is strongest on Erin Ridge and Jensen Lakes roofs. A typical Alberta solar system produces 10,000–12,000 kWh/year; an EV uses 3,000–4,500 kWh/year.

St. Albert FAQ

Asked in St. Albert.

None. It goes through the City of St. Albert and we take it off your plate entirely — our contractor designation covers the filing, and our office lines up the inspector. Nothing extra appears on the invoice for either.
Yes. Detached garages in St. Albert's mature neighbourhoods usually need a new underground feed — a trench, conduit, and sometimes a small subpanel. We measure the run at your free assessment and give you a fixed quote for the whole job before you commit.
In most cases, yes — with load management. The code (CEC Rule 86-300) lets an energy management system control the charger so it never pushes your service past its rating. It's built into the Emporia Pro and included with the Wallbox, and it typically saves the $1,500–$3,000 a service upgrade would cost.
A typical St. Albert Trail commute — about 35 km round trip — costs roughly $17–$31 a month in home electricity across 22 working days, versus about $92 in gasoline. Overnight charging on a low fixed or Solar Club rate sits at the low end.
No. You pay the posted install price — $3,099 to start for the Emporia Pro, $3,499 for the Wallbox — plus GST, and nothing for the drive across the Henday.
If a second EV is on the horizon, we usually spec the Wallbox for Power Sharing or plan panel capacity for a second Emporia Pro. Planning the circuit route for charger number two during install number one costs nothing and saves a second wiring day later.
