Sherwood Park homes run bigger. The newer subdivisions — Summerwood, Emerald Hills, Lakeland Ridge, Clarkdale Meadows, Salisbury Village, Aspen Trails — are wide two-storeys with a triple garage and three or four gables across the front, which is why a “typical” Sherwood Park front is closer to 135 feet than the 117 we use elsewhere. The established core — Broadmoor, Glen Allan, Mills Haven, Nottingham, Brentwood, Foxboro, Sherwood Heights — is 1970s to 1990s bungalows and two-storeys with simpler lines and mature trees. Out in the county, Ardrossan, Antler Lake, Josephburg and South Cooking Lake acreages often want the shop lit as well as the house.

- Height and pitch. Two‑storey eaves and steep roofs take longer and take more of the lift.
- Fascia material. Stone, stucco and metal cladding mount more slowly than wood or vinyl.
- The run to power. A short path to a sheltered outlet is simple; a long run around the house is not.

It is the mounting, the sealing of the penetrations, the alignment of the track along an uneven fascia, and the connection back to power. All of that is electrical work, and most permanent lighting in Alberta is sold by lighting retailers or seasonal holiday-light crews who subcontract exactly that part.
